APGRA Sydney Event – Meet the ICAC Chief Commissioner
The APGRA is excited to announce our upcoming event in Sydney on October 17th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, with our esteemed guest, the Hon John Hatzistergos AM, Chief Commissioner of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
During this event, the Chief Commissioner will address the critical topics of ethics and transparency in lobbying state parliamentarians, offering valuable insights on how to effectively navigate the complexities of lobbying while maintaining integrity and ethical standards.
The Hon John Hatzistergos AM was appointed Chief Commissioner of ICAC on 7 August 2022. Mr Hatzistergos was called to the NSW Bar in 1989 and practised as a barrister from 1989 to 2003, and from 2012 to 2014. He was Chair of the Joint Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption from 1999 to 2003.
Between 2003 and 2011 Mr Hatzistergos was a minister in the NSW Government, holding portfolios including Attorney General, Minister for Justice, Minister for Regulatory Reform, Minister for Health and Minister for Industrial Relations. In 2012 he was also appointed as an Examiner of the Australian Crime Commission. In 2014 he was appointed as a Judge of the District Court of NSW.
